If you live in a mobile home park, please check with the park manager to make sure that it is okay that your yard is raked by our volunteers before sending in your application.
Please Note: Only 10 leaf bags per week are typically picked up by curbside pickup services. Remaining leaf bags will eventually be picked up, but may take longer than normal. Please contact your service provider for questions or more information about curbside leaf bag pickup.

Yard Information

A small yard is typically 5-15 bags, a medium yard is around 15-30 bags, and a large yard is 35 or more bags.

FYI: Volunteers will not mulch or place leaves in compost, but can leave them with you if you wish to do so.

If you have a dog, ENSURE ALL ANIMAL WASTE IS PICKED UP and please confine your animal during the time that the volunteers are at your home. If there is animal waste in the yard, the volunteers will not rake your yard.

If you live in Boise, you must be enrolled in the City of Boise compost program (it’s free!) to participate in Rake Up Boise, and your GREEN LID compost bin/cart must be curbside with the leaf bags for the bags to be picked up. (Without the compost bin/cart, there is no way the driver can get the bags into the truck.) Call the City of Boise to enroll: (208) 608-7460.

Requests are not guaranteed and must be discussed with your assigned volunteer team captain. Skip this question unless you have a pertinent request.

RAKE UP BOISE™ — HOMEOWNER WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY
NeighborWorks® Boise ("NWB") | Updated August 2025

NeighborWorks® Boise (“NWB”) is a nonprofit organization coordinating Rake Up Boise™, an annual, volunteer-driven yard cleanup event designed to assist senior and/or disabled homeowners. Participation in this program is entirely voluntary and provided at no cost to homeowners.

Submitting this application for registration does not guarantee selection for the program. All applications for registration will be reviewed based on eligibility, need, available volunteer capacity, and other criteria determined by NWB. NWB reserves the right to deny any application for registration for any reason. If an application is approved, the resident will be contacted by an assigned volunteer team captain, a NWB staff member, or both.

By submitting this application for registration and signing below, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms, which will apply if I am selected to participate in Rake Up Boise ™:

  1. Voluntary Participation: I understand that my participation in Rake Up Boise™ (the "Event") is entirely voluntary. I may withdraw at any time by providing written notice to NWB. I understand that no contract for services is being created and that NWB has no legal obligation to provide or complete any services.
  2. Acknowledgment of Non-Professional Services: I acknowledge that all services are performed by volunteers who are not professional landscapers or contractors. Services may include, but are not limited to, raking, pruning, yard waste removal, and minor outdoor cleanup. I accept that the work is performed on a best-effort basis and may not meet professional standards.
  3. Homeowner Responsibilities (If selected):
  • I will ensure safe and accessible working conditions around the home, including removal of hazards or obstructions.
  • I agree to inform NWB of any known safety concerns before work begins.
  • I recognize that all work is done in good faith and that I will not hold NWB responsible for incidental or unintentional damage that may occur during the event.
  • I understand that volunteers will provide basic yard cleanup services only.
  • I understand that volunteers may not fully complete yard cleanup services, and if they do not, I am solely responsible for any remaining needs.
  • I understand that I am solely responsible for the disposal of bagged leaves and yard debris following the event. Disposal may be completed through my regular trash or compost collection provider, in accordance with their policies. It is my responsibility to contact my service provider for details or to arrange special pickup if needed.
  1. Release and Waiver of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby fully and forever release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless NWB, its parent organization, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, and assigns (“Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or in any way related to my participation in the Event, including any property damage or personal injury that may result from the acts, omissions, or negligence of the Released Parties. This release extends to claims arising from the condition of my property, the use of any tools or equipment, and any actions or inactions of event volunteers.
  2. Assumption of Risk: I understand that participation in the Event may involve physical activity, outdoor conditions, the use of tools or equipment, and other inherent risks. I knowingly and  voluntarily assume full responsibility for any risk of injury, illness, or damage that may occur as  a result of my participation.
  3. Medical Care: I hereby give consent and authority to NWB and/or assigned volunteers to obtain medical treatment on my behalf if I am injured or require medical attention during this event. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment, medical transportation, and/or evacuation. I hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claim whatsoever in connection with such treatment or other medical services.
  4. Media Consent: I understand and agree that I may be photographed, videotaped, and/or audio recorded by NWB during the Event. I hereby grant NWB and its partners and sponsors all right, title, and interest to use such photographs, video, and audio recordings of me for any lawful purpose, including promotional and fundraising use, in any media, without restriction or compensation. I release the Released Parties from any claims arising out of such use.
  5. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or resulting from my participation in the Event or from conditions on my property encountered by volunteers.
  6. Property Damage: I understand and accept that there is an inherent risk of minor, unintentional property damage when volunteers perform yard work. I waive any claims against NWB or its affiliates for such damage. I acknowledge that I will not receive compensation nor repairs for any damage that may occur during this Event or the volunteer service provided.
  7. Insurance: I affirm that I carry valid homeowner’s insurance for the subject property. I understand that NWB does not provide property or liability insurance coverage for my home, property, or personal belongings.
  8. No Guarantee of Results: I acknowledge that NWB and its volunteers strive to provide helpful service but make no guarantee of outcome, completeness, or satisfaction. Services are provided “as-is” and on a one-time basis.
  9. Governing Law: This Waiver and Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho. If any portion of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
By entering my full name below, I acknowledge that I have read and understood this waiver and release, and that I voluntarily agree to its terms.
